Malcolm Bullock, a local artist from Simonstone, starts an exhibition of watercolour paintings at Whalley Library on Monday 1st February. The Whalley exhibition has been postponed for a month due to work on the library roof but has, in a trimmed-down form, been on display in the Community Room of Clitheroe Library.

The exhibition entitled “Points North” features landscape paintings of local scenes North of the M65 as well as places further afield, but always North. Keeping this Northern aspect in mind, the exhibition features a small competition to spot the “red herring” in the 35 pictures featured.

Malcolm was first drawn to painting in 1995 after a climbing trip to Skye and many of his pictures feature mountain scenery gleaned from walking and climbing trips, where he is rarely without sketchbook and camera.
